This project explores the tactile, luminous, and aesthetic dimensions of a wall’s surface.

The project is distinguished by the presence of a longitudinal wall running through the building. Its imposing presence is highlighted by a calming lighting that modulates its surface at different times of the day and throughout the seasons.

The intention was to combine creativity and functionality by installing integrated shelves within the textured wall. These shelves can be used and positioned depending on the layout of the rooms. A monochromatic cascading effect in plaster is created, establishing a calm, zen atmosphere. The light produces different effects throughout the day depending on the position of the sun. Shadows are cast onto the wall by its own texture.”

This project was completed at the Université de Montréal, in collaboration with Alicia-Victoria Chew, as part of the course DEI1018 – Atelier 1.
